The last thing you want during your vacation is to visit a doctor. Unfortunately, sometimes it can't be avoided. Illnesses and accidents can happen at any time. It’s reassuring that there are several international GPs and specialists practicing on the Costa Blanca. You never have to explain your ailment in broken language to a doctor who doesn’t understand you, even if you live in Spain but do not yet speak the language well.

Being sick is already challenging enough! Fortunately, many of the parties listed below have agreements with international health insurers. There are also many administrative departments and/or assistants who speak multiple languages.

At the Medisch Centrum Torrevieja, the multilingual-speaking Dr. Frank Schuerman works. He has 22 years of experience in Belgium and 20 years in Spain. The Medisch Centrum works closely with private hospitals nearby. These parties have agreements with health insurers in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain. INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CENTERS ON THE COSTA BLANCA

In medical centers, you will find not only general practitioners but also many specializations. The advantage of a medical center can be that you do not have to go directly to the hospital and can go to a small-scale practice. Some medical centers have many medical specialists under one roof. Located between Alfaz del Pi and Albir, you will find the Medisch Centrum Alfaz. The medical staff consists of Spanish and international doctors of various specialties. In this medical center, you will find general practitioners, a cardiologist, a surgeon, a psychotherapist, a dermatologist, a rheumatologist, and more. You can also have diagnostic tests such as blood tests, ultrasounds, ECGs, 24-hour heart measurements, and lung function tests done here.
